THE INFLUENCE OF THE CHIC-CHOCS

This work by Monique illustrates an important step in her journey as a naturalist painter: the daily observation of moose in parc national de la Gaspésie. For
over fifteen years, the Benoits shared the life of the king of our forests in the heart of the Chic-Choc Mountains. In summer, the watch takes place at Lake
Paul where about twenty moose are gathered. With its morning mist, its soft June green and the evocation of a walk on the shore of the lake, the painting
entitled The Twins – Moose bears witness to the blessed seasons that filled the artist.
