ROMANTICISM IN MONIQUE'S WORKS

A pair of pine grosbeaks feeding on the ground, in a frosty setting as only Monique can imagine. Note the mayflowers as well as various lichens and mosses. Impressed by the works of Monique, the art historian Guy Robert wrote: “Fauna and flora marry sumptuously under her patient and skilful hand, in landscapes of mist and snow, undergrowth and spring. On the fringes of the fashion for wildlife art, which she has greatly surpassed, the work continues, always faithful to itself. And behind her harmonious scenes, one seems to hear a prelude by Chopin…”
