This giclée pays tribute to wolves, the keystone species so dear to Gisèle, who draws inspiration from her many years of observing wolves and her fight for the protection of the wild world. The wolves in this unique scene embody vigour and courage; they invite movement, mobilization, even resistance in the face of a monochrome world that banishes different, freedom-loving beings. Available in two sizes, this fine art giclée print on canvas will bring a breath of fresh air and optimism to your home.

Why did the artist title this painting The Runaways? Long ago, wolves found in man a brother with whom to collaborate. From this collaboration was born the dog, man's most faithful friend. The miracle of this first domestication would never have happened if our distant hunter-gatherer ancestors had perceived the wolf as a competitor, a vile and harmful being. True managers of the wild world, wolves today have a bad reputation that still earns them unjust accusations, detested, hunted and slaughtered. If they dare openly venture into the vicinity of modern man, their recklessness is immediately considered suspect. We must quickly lynch these dangerous prowlers without any trial! They are fugitives, rebellious... The original painting belongs to a private collection. It’s a 20" x 46" (51 cm x 117 cm) oil on canvas.

Fine art prints to spread the beauties of art and nature

Each year, Monique and Gisèle allow the reproduction of a limited number of original paintings. They do this essentially to make the products derived from their art accessible to all budgets, and above all, to finance the educational projects of the Society of Art and Science for Nature (SAS Nature), the non-profit organization of which they are co-founders.
