Inspiration in one hand

Black-capped chickadees surround Gisèle's studio, to whom she offers sunflower seeds daily. When the naturalist observed these charming birds in a mountain maple tree covered with samaras one September morning, she wanted immediately to paint the scene. This small oil on canvas captures the delicacy of the chickadees and the vivid colours of the tree trembling during the first hoarfrost.
