When Gisèle met Babaloo in 2002, he was just a mischievous little being of exceptional beauty, a blessed wolf pup born at the gates of the Canadian Great North, the land of the wolf that he explored in the company of his family. His rebellious and curious temperament, his remarkable intellectual qualities and his early sense of responsibility heralded his extraordinary destiny. Babaloo was for Gisèle a key, a path, a revelation, a mentor, the password that gave her access to the secret world of wolves. Although the temporal paths of the naturalist and the white wolf have separated, this moving painting symbolizes the bond that will always unite them. A timeless work of the most significant for the artist. Two sizes of fine art giclée prints on canvas are offered to you, with or without a frame.

For many years, the wolf has been at the heart of the commitment for Gisèle, Monique and Raynald Benoit. By sharing their observations, documentaries and artworks, this trio of naturalists wishes to raise public awareness of the ecosystem services provided by the wolf. The Benoits’ message is a call to humility. According to them, we must relearn how to work with the laws of nature, or at least stop opposing them by imposing our own rules to satisfy human interests.
The original painting belongs to the artist’s collection. Painted in 2002, at the Benoit family base camp in Northern Ontario, it’s another major piece of the IN THE LAND OF THE WOLF Exhibition, which can be admired at the Monique and Gisèle Benoit Centre. This is a 20’’ x 28’’ (51 cm x 71 cm) oil on canvas.

Fine art prints to spread the beauties of art and nature

Each year, Monique and Gisèle allow the reproduction of a limited number of original paintings. They do this essentially to make the products derived from their art accessible to all budgets, and above all, to finance the educational projects of the Society of Art and Science for Nature (SAS Nature), the non-profit organization of which they are co-founders.
