Gisèle adores red foxes, which she ranks among the most beautiful northern mammals. Since her beginnings as a painter and naturalist, she has forged close ties with several of these champions of adaptation, capable of living both in urban environments and on the edge of the forest. The young fox who inspired this artwork frequented the surroundings of the base camp of the Benoit family, in Northern Ontario. The expression of his gaze, the beauty of his fur as well as the luminous decor give this fine art giclée on canvas a contagious good mood! It is offered with or without frame.
Why did the artist title the original painting A Fox Called Hope? The answer in the History section.

Gisèle painted this picture when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. She named the fox Hope in response to the absurdity of certain human behaviours, the excessive power of their destructive capacity and the terrible consequences of war. According to the artist, the tormented context surrounding the creation of this painting clearly illustrates the contrast between the so-called wild animal and the bipeds claiming the title of civilized.
The original painting belongs to a private collection. This is a 15" x 30" (38 cm x 76 cm) oil on canvas.

Fine art prints to spread the beauties of art and nature

Each year, Monique and Gisèle allow the reproduction of a limited number of original paintings. They do this essentially to make the products derived from their art accessible to all budgets, and above all, to finance the educational projects of the Society of Art and Science for Nature (SAS Nature), the non-profit organization of which they are co-founders.
