The year 2002 marked the beginning of the most wonderful adventure for the Benoit family, who realized their dream of living among wolves. From the beginning of August to the end of October, the naturalists observed, drew and captured hundreds of hours of videos, the best moments of which were shared with the general public in the documentary series Wilderness Encounters and In the Land of the Wolf. This is how the wolf pup Babaloo, his sister Busby and the other members of the Burnt Hills Pack charmed millions of nature lovers, who discovered them on television or on Gisèle’s YouTube channel.
Did you know that Busby was the favourite of Raynald, Gisèle’s father and filmmaker? Demonstrating remarkable intelligence, the little female wolf had a special bond with Babaloo. The affection uniting these two wolf pups remains among the Benoits’ fondest memories. The painting reproduced on this cup shows Busby in October, on a frosty morning.
