A TIRELESS SINGER

We hear this bird more than we see it. Indeed, the blue-headed vireo sings almost all day long as soon as it arrives in spring. Most birds fall silent during the summer heatwaves, but not this one. The heat seems to encourage it to sound its monotonous trills in the canopy, a way of reminding us of its otherwise discreet presence. This is the first time Gisèle has painted a blue-headed vireo, a species known mainly to bird watchers. This small oil painting is filled with spring light and joy, all it lacks is the bird's song!
