This work by Gisèle transports us to one of the summits of the Chic-Chocs, a mythical territory where she studied the behaviour of moose for several decades. Autumn marks the season of love and by his attitude, Brutus forbids us to get close to his mate. The stripped decor makes his gestural menace even more impressive. This giclée on acid-free paper will delight all nature lovers while instiling the desire to visit the mountains that have seen the birth of Gisèle's passion for the king of our forests. But who is Brutus? Check it out in the History section!

The bull moose that inspired the original painting to Gisèle actually existed. However, Brutus' life was difficult, hit by hardships, so much so that the artist paid tribute to him by painting him in a context where success in love finally smiled on him. The true story of this brave and endearing moose is worth knowing. We can discover it in the web-series IN THE LAND OF THE WOLF, available on YouTube. Here is a link to episode 4 entitled A Moose Called Brutus:

The original painting belongs to a private collection. This is a 12" x 18" (30 cm x 46 cm) oil on canvas.

Fine art prints to spread the beauties of art and nature

Each year, Monique and Gisèle allow the reproduction of a limited number of original paintings. They do this essentially to make the products derived from their art accessible to all budgets, and above all, to finance the educational projects of the Society of Art and Science for Nature (SAS Nature), the non-profit organization of which they are co-founders.
