MONIQUE AND HER PASSION FOR RODENTS

Monique is very fond of rodents, especially chipmunks. The first “little Swiss” to which the artist became attached had dug its burrow a few metres from the
Benoit base camp, in Northern Ontario. This is a female who lived for eleven years, a feat for this species in the wild!

This photo presents Monique in her company in 2005. Each time she paints a chipmunk, she shares the memory of the one who was her great friend.
