Gisèle Benoit loves to paint the wolf and her winter scenes are a delight for collectors. In this painting, a wolf pack travels near a stream surrounded by Cedars, Jack Pines and Black Spruces. In winter, several wild animals, including wolves, cross the rivers by snow bridges. This behaviour has inspired the title of the work. Note how the light contrasts with the shadows on the snow. The impressive black wolf in the foreground is probably the pack’s leader.
