PAINTING THE WIND

In this painting, Gisèle imagined a wolves pack surprised by the lifting of the wind. Blowing snow suddenly sweeps the lake, causing discomfort to wild canines. One after the other, they stand (or will stand), ready to follow their leader towards safer shelter in the forest. The technical challenges of this painting are numerous: the light and the colours, the wind in the fur of the wolves and the miserable expression of some of them. The artist has been observing and studying the behaviour of grey wolves in their natural habitat for many years, which helps her to accurately depict them on canvas and to capture their deep essence.
